Cancer kills 48% more people in our country than the European average according to the European Commission's country report, but despite this serious public health crisis, the government seems less concerned about saving lives than it should be. Romania's National Plan for the Prevention and Control of Cancer, promulgated with much fanfare by the government, remains just a nice promise on paper. Without the implementing rules of this law, cancer patients are left adrift without any real hope of rescue.
In an effort to protect the rights of cancer patients, FACIAS has filed a preliminary complaint calling on the Government and the Ministry of Health to act immediately and implement the rules of the National Plan for the Prevention and Control of Cancer.
This act is a strong wake-up call to the current administration, a call to action that cannot be ignored!
