FACIAS
OBJECTIVES
FACIAS's objectives are as follows:
- Monitor state abuses and actively intervene, through the means provided by law, to remedy them and monitor justice and health regulations and practices that impact on human rights;
- Defending and respecting human rights as laid down in international treaties and European law;
- Referring cases of human rights violations to public authorities and initiating collective litigation;
- Ensuring transparency in the functioning of state institutions as a European principle of democracy and the rule of law;
- FACIAS will provide free support to citizens in promoting, supporting or defending their rights or in taking action against reported abuses;
- Involving citizens in the development of public decisions and policies to solve community problems;
- Counselling of collectives of citizens who have been wronged by state institutions;
- Organise meetings between citizens and representatives of State institutions in order to monitor the fulfilment by citizens of the roles that the State has in society;
- Establishment of annual awards for civic activities, awarded to citizens, volunteers, as well as state institutions, for fulfilling their responsibilities to citizens, publishing informational materials and other printed materials that help achieve the proposed goals;
- Organise activities to identify, encourage and promote people with creative-innovative potential;
- FACIAS shall take any other legal action before any State institution in order to achieve its objective of respecting the rights and interests of citizens and defending them against any abuse by State institutions against them;
