Responding to a request submitted by FACIAS, the Government, through the National Administration of State Reserves, only showed wheat stocks. Even in the case of these, the reply only included the legal deadline of "at least four months".

As for other cereals or provisions, these were not included in the reply received from the National Administration of State Reserves.

FACIAS has asked the government to communicate publicly whether the state reserves can provide the necessary food and for what period these reserves exist.

FACIAS pointed out that Romanian legislation provides for much shorter periods than in other countries for the establishment of state reserves. As the official reply shows, these reserves are set up to cover a period of at least four months, whereas in other European countries, such as Germany or France, state reserves can cover a period of up to two years.

FACIAS's request on this issue was addressed to the Prime Minister and the reply received from the National Administration of State Reserves covers only part of the questions raised. Thus,

FACIAS did not receive an answer to the questions related to the purchase by the state of cereals other than wheat, or the question on the status of the construction of strategic regional warehouses, projects included in the NRRP and started in 2021.

FACIAS, according to its statutory purpose, but also through its constant activity over the past 14 years, defends the rights of citizens and seeks to ensure transparency in the functioning of state institutions as a principle of democracy and the rule of law.
