FACIAS has today asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs for more information of public interest on the investigations into the old people's homes in Ilfov, which have been reported in the public arena to have lasted "for years".
FACIAS questions to MAI:
- Please tell us, in as concrete and detailed a manner as possible, what was/were the cause(s) of the failure of the police authorities under your institution to intervene firmly from the moment they became aware of the abuses at the three old people's homes in Voluntari and the fact that people's lives were in danger?
- Please tell us what would have been those concrete evidences that could not have been administered (nowadays) in case of early intervention to stop those acts of elder abuse, in short what would have "compromised" the prosecution file?
- Please let us know whether the Ministry of the Internal Affairs has carried out or will carry out checks on the way the police investigation was carried out in the case of the abuse of the elderly in the 3 homes.
