The Foundation For The Defense Of Citizens Against State Abuses (FACIAS) wishes success to Judge Gabriela Baltag for the position of President of the Superior Council of Magistrates, considering that she is the most suitable magistrate to ensure the representativeness of this important institution in the next period.
The interest of civil society in the election of the President of the Council of Supreme Judicial Magistrates is due to the fact that the year 2022 represents a real challenge for the current Council, a priority in its work being the completion of the process of revision of the justice laws in order to ensure a coherent and stable legislative framework that meets the expectations of citizens to have a functional, fair and balanced, but especially independent justice.
Therefore, we wish Judge Baltag to keep the courage, the principles and the system of values that have promoted her in the Council and, as the future President of the Council, to ensure the transmission of a correct, balanced and adequate institutional message both in the relationship with the internal authorities of the Romanian state and, especially, in the dialogue with the European bodies, in order to ensure that their representatives are correctly informed and understand the existing situation in the Romanian judicial system.
