On Thursday, 27 February, The Foundation For The Defense Of Citizens Against State Abuses filed a class action on behalf of the CEC-BRD victims at the Bucharest Court.
In the application, FACIAS requested the court to oblige the defendants - BANCA ROMANA DE DEZVOLTARE - GROUPE SOCIETE GENERALE (BRD - GSG) - on the basis of the evidence to be submitted, MINISTRY OF PUBLIC FINANCE and the ROMANIAN STATE represented by the MINISTRY OF PUBLIC FINANCE - to pay damages equivalent to the updated and indexed value of the sums deposited with the Savings and Savings Bank (CEC Bank SA) and subsequently transferred to BRD-GSG for the purchase of cars.
At the same time as the filing of the files, a rally of the victims took place in front of the Court, attended by about 60 people. The people demanded respect for the law and the return of money deposited with the CEC before 1989.
