The Foundation for the Defense of the Citizen Against State Abuses (FACIAS) strongly condemns the passivity of state institutions that led to the incident in IOR Park, where a 13-year-old girl was beaten and humiliated by a group of about 15 young people. FACIAS demands the identification of those responsible for ensuring public order and the resignation of all heads of institutions responsible for this situation.

In broad daylight, in one of the busiest parks in Bucharest, IOR Park, a 13-year-old girl was beaten and bullied by a large group of girls, without anyone intervening. Although the Sector 3 Local Police has, in theory, patrols to ensure public peace and order, as well as a monitoring and surveillance mechanism consisting of dozens of cameras spread throughout the park, no one prevented or even managed to observe the conflict in time.

In a public intervention, the mother of the beaten girl demands justice for her child. The incident has also caused significant emotional damage to the girl's family, especially as it was the mother, an ambulance nurse, who intervened to give the girl medical assistance following a 112 call. "Please help us to get justice. Please help us get justice for these children. Please kindly get counselling. Please help us to get justice, so that it doesn't stay like this. My child is traumatized, in a way I can't tell you," said the mother of the beaten girl.

FACIAS demands harsh sanctions in this situation where state representatives, those who are supposed to ensure prevention and protection of citizens, have failed in this mission and will closely monitor the criminal investigation started to ensure that justice is done!

FACIAS publicly asks the City Hall of Sector 3 and the Local Police of Sector 3 to identify the agents responsible for ensuring public order in IOR Park at the time of the incident and to sanction them. FACIAS calls for the dismissal of the coordinator of the surveillance teams who did not monitor the activity of the Local Police patrols. Because of the widespread mismanagement which, according to FACIAS's information, allows incidents of aggression to be frequent in IOR Park, culminating last week in the incident that outraged an entire country, FACIAS also calls for the resignation of the General Director of the Local Police Sector 3, Amalia Ciulinaru.
