The Foundation for the Defense of the Citizen Against State Abuses (FACIAS) has published the report on the monitoring of the implementation of the most important projects undertaken under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), within the framework of the Project "Transparency and Accountability - Monitoring the NRRP".
The initial allocation under the NRRP was €29 billion, of which Romania has so far received around €3.8 billion. Two billion euros have been lost, but it is important to note that this amount has not been lost as a penalty or because of any delay, but is a consequence of Romania's economic growth, which has been higher than originally estimated. The total funding for 2022 that can be accessed is €6.1 billion.
Romania must implement the 27 milestones and targets by 30 June 2022. At the time of publication of this report, most of them are still being implemented. Among these milestones, an imminent risk of delay is represented by the chapter for the construction and operationalization of 110 nurseries facilities, which has less than one month to be completed, including the submission of funding applications and the signing of contracts.
