The Foundation For The Defense Of Citizens Against State Abuses (FACIAS) intervened in the case of the Craiova police officer arrested for child pornography and sexual acts with a minor, asking the relevant institutions to intervene and identify the problems in order to prevent similar situations. The situation must be treated with the utmost seriousness, as this is not the first incident of its kind..
FACIAS believes that an in-depth analysis of the causes of the situation, their identification and concrete measures are needed so that such cases do not recur.
To this end, FACIAS has asked the Dolj County Police Inspectorate for the results of the latest psychological test of the police officer from Craiova. The request comes after information appeared in the press according to which the specific psychological testing was last done in spring 2019.
Regarding the way this psychological test is done, information has also appeared in the media disputing this procedure. According to some people inside the Police, the way psychological testing is done is outdated and inefficient, and modern methods of assessment are needed, which would require a radical change in testing and assessment procedures.
At the same time, FACIAS asked for clarifications from the DGASPC Dolj regarding the permissions given to the minor when she was meeting with the police officer, as well as clarifications regarding the administrative measures taken in this case.
According to information provided by DIICOT prosecutors, the police officer from Craiova is under investigation after having had sexual relations with a minor for two years, with whom he also took several sexually suggestive pictures and videos.
