Over the course of 17 years, we have been able to support hundreds of actions and advisory projects that have benefited over 3 million citizens, working both with and for the people. With the assistance of its supporters, FACIAS has been able to highlight egregious violations of human rights and take action to rectify them.

  • over 150 projects carried out
  • over 4500 addresses and petitions addressed to state institutions
  • over 130 criminal actions against public officials in cases of abuse
  • over 150 actions of representation in collaboration with the People's Advocate in centers for vulnerable, institutionalized persons
  • over 700 calls per month from citizens reporting abuses by state institutions
  • over 150 court actions initiated by FACIAS on behalf of citizens to guarantee their rights
  • more than 50 laws have been implemented as a result of FACIAS's actions, which called for the issuance of rules for their application
  • we have produced more than 100 guides and models for taking action in the courts so that citizens can protect their rights
  • initiated 6 international partnerships/collaborations
  • organized over 50 Debates/Events at national and international level

Among the successful projects carried out by FACIAS were: the "I want to help" campaign, the "Transparency and Accountability - Monitoring the PNRR" project, the "544 Campaign", the "And they are Romania's children" project, the "Hello, Romanian State? Answer!" project. or the launch of the "Civic Platform".

In the preceding year, following the endeavours of FACIAS, the implementing regulations for the National Cancer Control Plan were formally endorsed, thereby signifying a substantial advancement in the ongoing battle against this pernicious condition. In addition, in 2024, the High Court of Cassation and Justice (HCCJ) delivered a ruling in favour of FACIAS, thereby obliging state institutions to adhere to the stipulated legal deadlines for the comprehensive implementation of Law No. 7/2023, which pertains to the provision of monthly financial support measures for adults with disabilities. Additionally, a decision was obtained by FACIAS in court, obliging the Romanian Government to establish the implementing rules of the Youth Law, which was adopted in 2006, but never implemented due to the absence of such rules.

In 2025, FACIAS reported serious abuses and demanded urgent interventions regarding the treatment of institutionalized children, but also regarding the waste of state institutions or the negligence of the Romanian state in transposing EU directives, with direct impact on citizens.

FACIAS has recently achieved a significant legal victory on behalf of students in Romania. Following a period of 20 years characterised by impasse, the ICCJ ruling mandates that the state must now respect students' rights and permit private investment in student accommodation. In addition, in April, FACIAS prevailed in a lawsuit against the Romanian Police for lack of transparency, a significant development that will benefit all drivers in Romania. As a result, the IGPR is now obligated to publicly disclose the effectiveness and error rate of drug tests utilised in traffic enforcement.

The results obtained so far determine us to continue the fight against abuses. From now on, we will continue to stand by the side of the wronged, we will campaign for respect for the truth and human rights in Romanian society.
