As a response to FACIAS demands, Romanian state institutions notified us that over 99 million euros were paid as compensation following Romania's ECHR convictions between 2004 and 2021. In actuality, the money paid by the Ministry of Finance, the national budget, and, implicitly, Romanians' money is far more. This is because the official figure excludes compensations paid as a result of amicable agreements reached between the Romanian government and those whose rights were violated.
