The Foundation For The Defense Of Citizens Against State Abuses (FACIAS) points out that even today the stock situation of the drug Euthyrox is serious and the crisis is not solved.
At this moment there are 16 counties in Romania where there are less than 500 tablets of Euthyrox, the lowest stocks being recorded in Mehedinți and Vaslui, where there is less than one box in each of these counties.

With a patient needing about 30 tablets a month, stocks in these counties would barely be enough for a single thyroid patient.
The current situation shows that the measures taken by the Romanian National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices have had no effect, even though two parallel import authorisations were issued in May and July.
This crisis caused by the absence of the medicine from pharmacies has been going on for several months now, and the authorities, although promising a solution, have not yet found one.
FACIAS will continue to monitor the situation in line with its purpose and mission.
