FACIAS's request comes at a time when there is a looming shortage of flu vaccine, which has run out of pharmacies in just a few hours. Most pharmacies have zero stock, with many orders for the vaccine not being filled. Demand is so high that there are waiting lists for those who want to buy it.
Even general practitioners did not receive enough doses of the vaccine in the first batch, when everyone in the risk groups should have been vaccinated. In addition, until today the Ministry of Health has not communicated when the second tranche of the vaccine should be delivered.
The Ministry of Health needs to explain exactly what the reason for this new crisis is and how it intends to ensure that all Romanians who wish to receive the flu vaccine will be able to do so in the coming period.
Specialists have warned that the situation may become serious in the coming period, when seasonal flu infections will overlap with the new coronavirus and the health crisis may deepen.
