Health Minister Sorina Pintea announced at the 8 August meeting of the Economic and Social Council the extension of the tax exemption for immunoglobulin and human plasma products for another 3 years.
FACIAS gave a favourable opinion on the draft emergency ordinance at the ESC plenary session on Thursday, believing that preventing crises such as the immunoglobulin crisis, in which several patients with primary immunodeficiencies lost their lives, must become a national priority.
Since June this year, FACIAS has been calling on the Ministry of Health to publicly present solutions to avoid a new crisis in immunoglobulin treatment, following the major crisis Romania faced in 2017.
Also, at the European Economic and Social Committee plenary on Thursday, FACIAS called on Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici to take steps to allocate the necessary funds to address the serious situation reported by dozens of theatres that are now practically unable to operate.
