On Thursday, 27 February, at 10:00 am, the Foundation for the Defence of Citizens against State Abuses (FACIAS) will file a class action at the Bucharest Court on behalf of dozens of citizens who have been wronged by the Romanian state.

These are Romanians who for more than two decades have been waiting for the recovery of sums deposited with CEC before 1989 for the purchase of a Dacia car. There are about 2,000 people, most of them elderly, who between 1990 and 1992 transferred their car deposits from CEC to BRD. For more than 5 years they have been waiting to get their money back and to benefit from the same treatment as the other approximately 37,000 beneficiaries of GEO no. 156/2007 amended and completed by Law no. 232/2008.
On Thursday, 27 February, FACIAS representatives will be joined by the victims of this injustice, as well as citizens who are in solidarity with the problem of these people. Those who wish to support the cause and to convey a message for equal opportunities and non-discrimination, justice and truth, can join this initiative at 10.00 am, in front of the Bucharest Court.
