The Foundation for the Defense of the Citizen Against State Abuses (FACIAS) has produced a practical step-by-step guide explaining what patients need to do to find out what and how much the state has spent on their health.
Following numerous requests from citizens, FACIAS is providing patients with a guide on how to access the history of medical services, medicines and medical devices paid for from the health insurance budget that they received in the previous year.

This practical guide is part of the project "Romanian patient - fair laws and maximum transparency", through which FACIAS tries to make it easier for the state to facilitate patients' access to information directly concerning them in the field of health.
The project "Romanian patient - fair laws and maximum transparency" aims to ensure patients' unhindered access to the health system, to fair laws, in their service, to their correct and transparent application, and to eliminate abuses in the field.
FACIAS, according to its statutory purpose, but also through its constant activity over the past 14 years, defends the rights of citizens and seeks to ensure transparency in the functioning of state institutions as a principle of democracy and the rule of law.
