The Foundation For The Defense Of Citizens Against State Abuses (FACIAS) will file a complaint in the case of the tragedy in Vaslui, where a child aged only 1 year and 5 months died from electrocution after stepping on a wire from a lamp located on the lawn of the Civic Center. The incident, which shocked the public, occurred in a green space frequented daily by hundreds of people.
The fact that the responsible authorities did not take all necessary measures to prevent such a tragedy constitutes a flagrant violation of their legal obligations regarding the protection and safety of citizens, facts that must be immediately investigated by the criminal prosecution authorities.
FACIAS requests the Prosecutor's Office to urgently identify all persons and public authorities responsible for violating their legal obligations to ensure the maintenance and inspection of electrical equipment in the Civic Center.
FACIAS will monitor the criminal investigation and demand that all those responsible be held accountable.
