The Foundation For The Defense Of Citizens Against State Abuses (FACIAS) will participate Wednesday, 27 November, in the trial set by the Disciplinary Prosecutors Section of the SCM in the case of the abusive prosecutor in the case of the little girl from Baia de Aramă, Maria Pițurcă, who is under disciplinary investigation.
Following the FACIAS referral, the Judicial Inspectorate decided to conduct a disciplinary investigation into her for "acts prejudicial to professional honour or probity or to the prestige of justice, committed in the exercise or outside the exercise of her duties" and "acting in bad faith".

Prosecutor Maria Antoneta Pițurcă became the subject of a disciplinary investigation in the summer of this year, after images of the prosecutor forcibly extracting Sorina Lucan, an eight-year-old girl from Baia de Aramă, from the home of a foster carer appeared in the public arena, a case that was widely publicised at the time.
