99.1% of Romanian patients want to know more about the cost of the medical care they received. 98.2% want to know how much they contributed to the health-care system. 96% of patients believe there is a need for an IT system that would allow them to learn how much the medical system paid for the care they received. 96.5% believe that a law is required to provide them with access to a database containing the amounts paid and the costs for the medical services that patients receive.<\/p>\n
These are the results of FACIAS's questionnaire responses for the \"Romanian patient - fair laws and maximum transparency\" project. The study was conducted online between July 15 and August 15.<\/p>\n
The vast majority of those who responded to the survey desired a transparent health-care system with easy patient access to information. Patients also believe that information about treatment costs, insurance premiums, and how they are spent should be available at all times.<\/p>\n
