OPEN LETTER TO THE ROMANIAN GOVERNMENTs PRIME MINISTER<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Mr. Prime Minister,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In recent months, United Nations Organisation\u2019s Agencies have recognized severe worldwide concerns and have warned that there is a serious risk that humanity could face famine, resulting in global destabilization and unprecedented mass migration. Romania will not be spared the consequences of this impending disaster, whether we're talking about a scarcity of certain foods or prohibitively high costs for others.Do not forget that our country is experiencing rampant inflation, as are other countries in the region.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This issue has the possibility of having a major impact on national security.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Romanians must know whether the state is capable of protecting them from the severe repercussions of the projected cumulative crises, both economic and food.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As a result, please explain Romanian citizens, for what are you directly responsible:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  • \u25cf\tFor how long is it projected that the state reserves for food products can meet Romania's food requirements? It is a topic that has to be clarified, considering that the existing law allows for the construction of reserves for a period of two and a half months, whereas state reserves in France or Germany offer food for two years.<\/li>\r\n
  • \u25cf\tHow much did the state reserves for food products increase in percentage as a result of approval of GEO 75 June 2, 2022 ?<\/li>\r\n
  • \u25cf\tHow much wheat, rapeseed, and barley did the government buy from Romanian farmers this year?<\/li>\r\n
  • \u25cf\tHave solutions for storing wheat and other grains produced by Romanian farmers been identified? Clarification is required in this regard, given the recent influx of reports from farmers in Dobrogea, for example, who claim to have ended up selling at dumping rates due to a lack of storage space caused by grain that arrives from Ukraine and fills Romania's undersized infrastructure.<\/li>\r\n
  • \u25cf\tWhat is the status of the construction of the eight strategic regional warehouses, one for each region of the country, which represents, also, a goal of the National Recovery and Resilience Program and whose projects began in the first half of last year?<\/li>\r\n
  • \u25cf\tAre you thinking about creating a stock market for Romanian-produced food, which would allow you to maintain larger quantities in the country?<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Emphasizing all of the difficulties outlined above would assist Romania in resolving a paradox: while our country produces enough food to meet domestic demand, it is the most vulnerable state in the European Union in terms of food safety.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    We believe that such a risk is unacceptable, especially since it may be avoided promptly and without difficulties.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    That is why, Mr. Prime Minister, we urge you to act swiftly so that the state can successfully carry out one of its most essential responsibilities: protecting its citizens.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
