{"id":12170,"date":"2012-12-20T16:16:00","date_gmt":"2012-12-20T14:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/facias.ro\/?p=12170"},"modified":"2022-08-04T10:53:43","modified_gmt":"2022-08-04T07:53:43","slug":"proiect-votul-este-cel-mai-important-instrument-democratic-al-cetatenilor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/facias.ro\/eng\/proiect-votul-este-cel-mai-important-instrument-democratic-al-cetatenilor\/","title":{"rendered":"\"Voting is the citizens\u2019 most important democratic instrument\" Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the election campaign for the parliamentary elections, FACIAS carried out a campaign through which:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>aimed at informing citizens about their electoral rights<\/li><li>notified and prevented electoral crimes<\/li><li>stimulated the participation of citizens<\/li><li>involved a significant number of citizens in the electoral process<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this context, FACIAS has served as a channel between citizens and government institutions in circumstances where administrative errors and abuses can be addressed and are not the result of malice.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>The right to vote and using it<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Why do we vote?<\/strong><br \/>Romanian citizens can express their preferences by voting in national referendums, local referendums, national elections for the Parliament and the President of the country, county council, municipal council, and mayor elections, and, since 2007, European Parliament elections.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/parliament\/public.do?language=ro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Parlamentul European\u00a0<\/a>.<br \/><br \/><strong>Where do we vote?<\/strong><br \/>You can check the City Hall's list to see where voting stations will be set up in your neighborhood. Each voting station containsis attributed to a number of streets, and you must determine which street belongs to which polling station. If you are not in your hometown on election day, you may vote at any polling place in your hometown.<br \/>You can also check if your name is on the voter list at ytne City Hall. You can vote on the supplementary list at the polling station where your street is located if your name does not appear in the electoral list of the polling station where your street is located due to a mistake.<br \/>If you are unable to vote at a polling station due to a valid reason, you may request that the transportable voting box be delivered to your home. To do so, you must submit a written request to the polling station's headpresident, explaining why you are unable to vote. The polling station president is the one who instructs the mobile voting box to be delivered to a voter's home.<br \/>On the basis of their passport, Romanian citizens voting abroad can do so at one of the polling stations set up next to Romanian diplomatic missions.<br \/><br \/><strong>When do we vote?<\/strong><br \/>Elections are held on the days set by specific legislation, usually on Saturday or Sunday, between the hours of 07.00 and 21.00.<br \/><br \/><strong>What documents do we need to vote?<\/strong><br \/>To vote, you must present a valid ID (ID card). If you have lost your identity card or it has expired, please visit your local police station to obtain a provisional identity card with which you will be able to vote.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Romanian Constitution<\/strong><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constitutiaromaniei.ro\/art-36-dreptul-de-vot\/\"><strong>ARTICLE 36 \u2013 Voting Right<\/strong><\/a><br \/><strong>(1)<\/strong>\u00a0Citizens have the right to vote starting at the age of 18.<br \/><strong>(2)<\/strong>\u00a0Persons who are mentally ill or insane, or who have been placed under interdiction, as well as those who have been convicted of losing their voting
