Following the announcement of the Romanian government's proposed austerity measures in 2010, FACIAS organized a national petition campaign against the executive, entitled \"STOP BOC.\" Following this campaign, FACIAS produced a series of images with Ministry of Administration and Interior personnel watching and filming Foundation's members and volunteers.<\/p>\n

At that time, FACIAS accused the Government of Emil Boc of:<\/p>\n

  1. Unemployment is skyrocketing, with over 1 million Romanians unemployed.<\/li>\n
  2. Retirees are humiliated and impoverished as a result of illegally reducing the value of the pension point, which has resulted in the theft of over 4 million Romanians. The Boc Government's incompetence is solely to blame for the 15% reduction in pensions.<\/li>\n
  3. Unfair salary reductions in the budgetary system - the Unitary Law on Salaries has reduced the wages of nearly 1 million Romanians. The 25% pay cut across the globe is unreasonable, unjustifiable, and damaging to the Romanian economy.<\/li>\n
  4. The blockage of the school system - by drastically reducing pay rights and politicizing the whole education system, the Romanian nation's future is jeopardized.<\/li>\n
  5. The health system is bankrupt - specialist staff is underpaid, technological equipment is outdated, and many health units, due to underfunding, have resulted in infection outbreaks that jeopardize the lives and health of all Romanian citizens.<\/li>\n
  6. The infrastructure is rapidly deteriorating - no new highways will be built in 2010, 43.2 % of Romania's public roads are unpaved, and the railway network is severely degraded, all of which have direct implications for the safety of people and goods transportation.<\/li>\n
  7. Agriculture is a disaster - in 2009, 1.2 million hectares of arable land remained uncultivated, and agricultural mechanical equipment is well below needs and the European average - in Romania, one tractor is assigned for 54 hectares of agricultural land, whereas in Austria, a tractor is assigned for only 4 hectares!<\/li>\n
  8. The national economy has collapsed - Romania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) fell by 7.2 percent in 2009, while industrial production fell by 5.7 percent.<\/li>\n
  9. Lack of respect for Romanian Values - Boc Government defies Romanian theater's landmarks, world and Olympic champions, writers, artists, researchers, scientists, and creators in any field for whom it refuses to establish a program of respect and gratitude, whose benefits are brutally reduced, and for whom it prohibits the accumulation of pensions with salary.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
