{"id":10508,"date":"2022-05-06T11:58:09","date_gmt":"2022-05-06T08:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/facias.ro\/?p=10508"},"modified":"2022-05-24T17:50:29","modified_gmt":"2022-05-24T14:50:29","slug":"prezentare-proiect-euthyrox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/facias.ro\/eng\/prezentare-proiect-euthyrox\/","title":{"rendered":"Euthyrox Project Presentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The project was carried out between August 1 - October 1, 2020.<\/strong><br>As a result of a large number of complaints and reclamations that our foundation has received since mid-2020 from patients and relatives facing a lack of Euthyrox, FACIAS has solicited public information on the causes underlying the current crisis on the Romanian pharmaceutical market regarding EUTHYROX stocks from the Ministry of Health and the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Romania.<br>For months, there has been a crisis of Euthyrox in pharmacies, a vital medicine for thyroid patients - those suffering from thyroid failure and, especially, those who have had thyroid surgery. About 5% of the population suffers from thyroid failure, i.e. one million people. Tens of thousands actually depend on levothyroxinum, the active substance in Euthyrox. If left untreated for a month, these people may die.<br>After a few weeks, the crisis worsened and Euthyrox's replacement, L-thyroxin, disappeared. Insured patients are entitled to these medicines free of charge, but the products are not available over-the-counter (without compensation).<br>There are 500,000 people whose lives depend on this medicine. Patients whose thyroid has been removed need it most. In the absence of treatment, health problems worsen and even death can occur after a month without medication, especially for those with heart
